CORE | Process Retail Sales for Products and Gift Cards

Overview

This article provides an overview of how to process product and gift card sales within the CORE platform — including applying account credit, using card payments, and filling out recipient details for gift cards.

Prerequisites

  • Admin or staff access to CORE
  • Products and/or gift cards already configured in POS Inventory
  • Client must exist in the system (or be created during sale)

Step-by-step instructions


Step 1: Sell a retail product

  1. Go to Payments > New Sale.
  2. Click on the Products tab.
  3. Search for a product by name or category (e.g. Bottled Water).
  4. Select the item and click Add to Cart.
  5. (Optional) Apply a discount.
  6. Search and select the Client purchasing the item.
  7. Choose payment method:
    • Account Credit: Apply available balance.
    • Credit Card: Click Pay Securely.

Tip: Account credit can partially or fully pay for product purchases.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 2: Sell a gift card

  1. While in New Sale, click the Gift Card tab.
  2. Choose a gift card design (e.g. "Sweat Your Buns Off").
  3. Fill in recipient details:
    • To Name
    • From Name
    • Purchaser’s Email Address
    • Recipient Email Address (who will receive the gift card)
    • Confirmation of Recipient Email Address
    • (Optional) Personal Message and Scheduled Delivery Date
  4. Click Add to Cart.
  5. Search and select the Client paying for the gift card.
  6. Proceed to Checkout and complete payment (e.g. Credit Card).

Tip: Once processed, the recipient will receive an email with their gift card details and redemption instructions.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Expected outcome

You’ll be able to successfully process sales for retail products and gift cards in CORE, using account credit or payment methods. Gift card recipients will automatically receive email delivery.


FAQs

Q: Can I apply multiple payment methods for one sale?

A: Not in one transaction. Choose either account credit or card.

Q: What happens if a client doesn’t have enough account credit?

A: Use account credit first, then cancel and start a second transaction using another method for the balance.

Q: Can gift cards be delivered on a future date?

A: Yes. Use the scheduled delivery option when entering recipient details.
