Overview

You can now allow users to assign instructors and substitutes directly within the “Session Detail” screen, without having to grant full session editing abilities. A new "Enable Edit Instructor" permission has been added in Team Settings > Admin or Employee Type > Schedule Tab >  Under the existing "Enable Sub Instructor" toggle.  This new setting gives more flexibility in managing instructor assignments without allowing broader session edits. Making it easier for users to change the primary instructor of a session without navigating through the full session editing process.

Use Cases

• Limit full session edits: Restrict certain users from editing sessions while still allowing them to update instructor assignments.

• Assign instructors easily: Enable users to assign both substitute and primary instructors from the session detail screen, streamlining the process.

• Control user permissions: Keep session editing restricted to core users while providing instructor assignment capabilities to others.

• Flexible instructor management: Allow more control over who manages the instructor lineup without compromising broader session management rights.

Key Notes

• The new "Enable Edit Instructor" permission is OFF, by default, and needs to be toggled ON for users to assign instructors.

• Users who have this feature enabled will see a new interface in Core > Schedule > Session Selection > Session Details > Edit icon for substitution and instructors

• Users without this permission will still be able to assign substitutes but will not have access to assign primary instructors unless the toggle is activated.
