Overviews

This guide walks you through how to configure multiple Workshop session types in Core, allowing you to create distinct pricing, scheduling, and package rules for each type. This is especially useful for businesses offering different workshops for varied client groups like instructor trainees vs. members.

Why it matters

Businesses can create multiple Workshop types that appear in both the Core Scheduler and the Explore > Workshops section in the app. This gives you flexibility to manage workshops independently by type.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to Core
  • At least one existing Schedule Template
  • Familiarity with Session Templates, Session Types, and Packages

Step 1: Setting Up New Workshop Session Types

  1. Navigate to Core > Schedule > Session Templates

  2. Click Create Template (+) or select Edit next to an existing template.

  3. Within the template, click the pencil icon beside Session Type.

Tip: You can reuse or modify existing templates to create new Workshop sessions.

Step 2: Adding a New Workshop Session Type

  1. In the Session Type pop-up, click Add More.

  2. Type your new Workshop session name starting with “Workshop” (e.g., Workshop Yoga, workshops reformer).

  3. Click Save.

Tip: Session types must follow exact naming conventions to be recognized as Workshops. Use any of the following formats:

  • Workshop <your title>
  • Workshops <your title>
  • Accepts both lowercase and uppercase variants.

🚫 Not allowed:

Do not include words before "Workshop" (e.g., Client Workshops, Teacher Workshop won't work).

Step 3: Assign the New Workshop Type to a Schedule Template

  1. Return to your Schedule Template.

  2. Add or update your session using the new Workshop Session Type.

  3. Configure instructor, session time, and location as usual.

Step 4: Apply the New Workshop Session Type to Sessions

When creating sessions from your schedule template:

  1. Select the newly added Workshop Session Type.
  2. All other session settings remain the same.

Step 5: Connect the Session Type to Packages or Memberships

  1. Go to Core > Payments > Retail Configuration > Packages / Memberships.

  2. Create or edit a package.

  3. Assign the correct Workshop Session Type to control access and usage.

Tip: Each workshop type can now have its own pricing, credits, and access controls.

Step 6: View in Core and the App

  • On Core Scheduler: Filter by Session Type to view the new workshops.
  • On the App: Navigate to Explore > Workshops to see them categorized under their type.

Tip: Booking and package validation will behave the same as for any other session type—users will only be able to book workshops included in their assigned package.

Expected Outcome

Your business now has the flexibility to offer and manage multiple workshop types independently across packages, scheduling, and app visibility.
